Dr. Kelly Davenport is the CEO and founding team member of Freire Schools, where she provides the vision and the heart for the network, leads its public efforts, and supports school leaders. Under Kellyā€™s leadership, Freire Schools has grown to four schools serving approximately 2,000 students in Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware. Stanford Universityā€™s Center for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO) recent study found that Freire Schools is a gap-busting school network for both reading and math, meaning the network has eliminated learning disparities for many students and moved their reading and math achievement ahead of Pennsylvaniaā€™s average performance.
